High Five for Friday!

Ow, ow, ow!! It’s finally Friday! Well, I say finally, but this week has actually gone by really quickly for me. Thankfully. Per my usual Friday post, I’m linking up with Lauren at From My Grey Desk for High Five for Friday! Ready… Set… Go!

1. It is finally time for the bachelorette/river floating weekend!!! I am so excited to be heading to a place with a river and outlet malls! It’s going to be a total blast and I’m really looking forward to spending some time with some awesome ladies!

2. After last week’s crazy meeting schedule, this week was almost completely normal. No hiccups, no bad days, overall it was a good week! Things have been so crazy lately that I’m 100% appreciative of normalcy.

3. In preparation for the big bachelorette weekend, I got a spray tan! I’m really trying to break myself of tanning in a tanning bed. Um…I don’t want to get skin cancer. But at the same time, I really like being tan. Anyway, even better, I got a Living Social deal. Can I get a holla for Living Social?

4. Wednesday was AdvoCare pay day. Nuff said!

5. I downloaded John Mayer’s new CD. I love it. Shadow Days is a beautiful song. Glad you’re back, John.

High Five for Friday!

It’s FINALLY Friday!!! This has been one of the most stressful weeks of my life. Goodness gracious! After three straight days of meetings and conferences at work, I’m ready for a break! As usual, I’m linking up with Lauren at From My Grey Desk for High Five for Friday, so head over to FMGD and grab a button!

1. Monday night was the premiere of The Bachelorette! The Bachelorette deserves a girl’s night and some wine — especially when this season’s crop is less than impressive. But, I like Emily, so I’ll bear with it for now.

2. You know how I said this week was stressful? Well, it’s been SO stressful, it deserves TWO girls nights. Last night, a couple girls from work and I had dinner and watched Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal. I made jello grapes! Someday I’ll post a jello grapes tutorial.

3. Tonight after work, I’m headed to Midland (again) for Crude Fest! Crude Fest is a Texas Country festival and a lot of bands will be there. Including the Casey Donahew Band, my favorites! P.S. In case you were wondering Crude Fest got its name because the Midland/Odessa area of West Texas is known for its oil production. That’s what we do here — cotton and oil, cotton and oil.

4. I got new shampoo and conditioner! Actually, when I first got it, I didn’t even realize I bought two bottles of shampoo. I had to go back to Ulta the next day and make an exchange. Embarrassing. I’ve been doing a lot of silly things like that lately. I love the shampoo and conditioner. It’s Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Lavender Mint Moisturizing. I’ve been wanting a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner lately. The bottle says it’s calming — I think this is true.

5. I got my Birchbox and was able to test all my samples this week! YAY!

May Birchbox

I got my May Birchbox last week and I was so excited!! I’m happy with my products this month. Thanks, Birchbox! If you’d like to subscribe to Birchbox, just click here!

This month, Birchbox did a Gossip Girl theme. I’ve been watching Gossip Girl since its first season (Bluck? Chair? Blair & Chuck 4EVA!) and its a favorite! The show has had its moments when I wanted to break up, but ultimately, we always find our way back to each other. This season has been REALLY good. Who else was stoked to see the return of a not-so-dead Bart Bass?? Read on for details on my Gossip Girl inspired products!

The first product in my box was fresh Sugar Rosé Tinted Lip Treatment. This lip treatment has SPF 15. YAY for sun protection! If your lips have ever been suburned, you know how much that sucks. I couldn’t really tell there was any tint to it after I put it on my lips, but I loved the way it glided on so smoothly. I like it, but for $22.50, my Chapstick will be just fine.

My next product was BVLGARI Omnia Crystalline perfume. If you know how to say that, go ahead and fill me in! I like this sample because it’s a SPRAY rather than a regular perfume sample. You know, the kind with the tiny lid that you’re afraid you’re going to spill when you finally get the lid off?? The scent is nice too. It’s really light and fresh. I like light and fresh!

I also got some Kiehl’s Abyssine Cream! I’ve been hearing and reading about Kiehl’s for a few years now, but never had access to it. It’s also a little pricey, haha. This is an anti-aging cream and even though it’s just a sample, it’s going to last a long time. I’m going to use it on my eyes — the place I’m most paranoid about wrinkles! I have that awful habit of pulling my eye lid when applying eyeliner………

My last beauty-type product was Miracle Skin Transformer Body SPF 20. I’m thinking this is basically makeup for your body. It’s tinted and the directions say to use it on legs, arms, etc. I don’t know about this, but I’m willing to try it!

My final product was a blank Birchbox note card with XOXO on it. You know, to fit the GG theme. Maybe I’ll write somebody a note.

April Birchbox

I originally discovered Birchbox via The Small Things Blog and then subscribed a couple months ago. If you’d like to subscribe to Birchbox, just click here! I was pretty pleased with my box this month, but it took forever to get here. I think that’s my fault because my card expired last month and I forgot to update my billing info! Anyway, read on for details on my products.

My April Birchbox!

I’ll start with my favorite product from my box. A sample of perfume — Wonderstruck by Taylor Swift, actually. I am SO excited about this. If you know me, you know I love Taylor Swift. Her music, her style, etc., etc., etc., everything! I’ve been wanting to try Wonderstruck for awhile, but I haven’t yet. LOVE the name of the perfume too — a direct reference to her song, Enchanted. It smells really great and it may be the next perfume I buy!

I also got some Lavender Facial Towelettes from willa. I’m kind of on the fence about these. They were really soft and gentle on my skin, but there’s something about the scent I don’t really like.

I got some nail polish from the Zoya TRUE Spring Collection. The color is great! It’s a minty/blue color called Bevin. It’s also a good size. Not too “sample size” small if you know what I mean. I can’t wait to try it!

I got some J.R. Watkins Hand & Cuticle Salve. My mom used to get their cooking products way, way back in the day! Watkins makes good quality stuff. The scent I got is lavender. This product is actually great for me because my cuticles are something I tend to neglect. Sad, I know. Did I just lose my lady card? It’s somewhat oily to the touch, but it’s not greasy on my skin, which is good. I like it!

My final sample was Dropps Laundry Detergent. They’re little laundry detergent pacs you just drop in the washer with your clothes. Very similar to dish washer detergent. I really like the concept, but I probably wouldn’t spend money on this later. I’m really cheap… so cheap that as soon as I finish the bottle of detergent I’m using now, I’m going to use a tub of homemade detergent my grandmother gave me. She found it on Pinterest. She’s a cool grandmother.

High Five for Friday!

This week has been very, very busy (like taking-work-home-every-night-busy), yet so good I had trouble picking five things! I have to say, I don’t mind. Especially after a not-so-good week or two lately. So, without further ado, here’s my high five for this week. Enjoy, y’all!

1. I had a 20% off coupon to Bath & Body Works, so my cousin and I decided to do a little shopping. When we got there, they sucked us in. They were having one of their awesome buy three, get three free sales, but on top of that, they were giving another *FREE* full size body was and a *FREE* travel size lotion. We decided to go halfsies and then split my coupon at the end. So, long story short, we each got three full size products and I got a free full size body wash and she got a free travel lotion and we each only paid $18 and some change. Awesome.

I also bought season nine of One Tree Hill on DVD. I’m now the proud owner of the entire series. The show may have ended, but my heart will never leave Tree Hill! ♥

3. In June, my best friend is getting MARRIED! I feel so happy, so excited, so old. We’re growing up! *tear* Anyway, I picked up bridesmaid dress for her wedding and now all it needs are a few alterations!

I need a couple inches taken in at the waist (score) and it will also be cut off at or just below the knee. The dress will be worn with wedges of the same color! Both are from David’s Bridal and the color is Sunbeam.

4. I downloaded some new music. So what if some of it happened to be One Direction? Go ahead, hate on me!

5. I also got to have lunch with one of my very best friends. Adrian is in the Marines, stationed in Yuma, Ariz., and has just returned from his second tour in Afghanistan. I’m so proud of him! It’s always great getting to catch up with when he comes to visit.
